The Siege
Starring Bruce Willis, Denzel Washington and Annette Bening
Written by Menno Meyjes, Edward Zwick and Laurence Wright
Directed by Edward Zwick
As rumors of a possible bombing of New York City, three of the United States' most highly trained organizations, the FBI, the CIA, and the Army join together to keep the population under control and apprehend the terrorists. A state of martial law is declared, so the Army is called, headed by General Bruce Willis (Die Hard, Armageddon). Anti-terrorist agent Denzel Washington (Courage Under Fire, He Got Game) from the FBI comes into the scene and CIA agent Annette Bening (Regarding Henry, The American President) becomes involved to find the identities of the terrorists and where they are from.
Bruce Willis is no stranger to saving the day, but he usually his boss is kicking his butt instead of him being the boss. Two strangers to action-disaster flicks are Denzel Washington and Annette Bening. This film will be a new style for both, but they have acting talent and definite screen presence.
Since the original Die Hard,
history has shown that Willis performs better when he doesn't
have the whole movie on his shoulders. Denzel is one of the best
ways to get women in to the theaters to see an action flick. Seeing
such an entertaining tough guy and a popular ladykiller on screen
together will be a treat.
